Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

I paid for the original app. Do I have to pay again for the new AI powered app?2024-02-14T18:27:48+00:00

No. Customers who paid for any version of the original app (iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac/Windows) will get free access to the new app.

This includes all of the available pro features, unlimited songs and recordings and free cloud access that automatically backs up and syncs your songs across your mobile and desktop devices.

Plus, each legacy user will get 750 Word Credits to try out the new AI capabilities.

😊 “That’s amazing as I bought the original in 2011. No one provides this type of support for a $10 app! – P. Daniels

Migration Help: Can I get more time to transfer my songs?2024-01-17T19:26:03+00:00

Yes. We have extended the deadline from February 1st to June 1st 2024

We will continue to support the legacy app and the Songwriter’s Pad Sync cloud service through the end of May.

NOTE: If you do not have a Songwriter’s Pad Sync account, your lyrics and audio files are stored locally on your device. If you delete the app, or your phone is damaged or lost, the content cannot be recovered.

  8. Download the new app and sign in with the same email or username

Manual Migration: How do I migrate my songs from the old app to the new one manually?2023-12-05T01:16:28+00:00

Here are the steps to migrate your songs manually.*

Here are the steps…

  1. In the old app, open each song individually.
  2. Tap Export > Email, and send a copy to yourself.
  3. In the new app, copy and paste each lyric into a new song.

Tip: Create the structure first using Song Blocks in the new app (e.g. Verse, Chorus, Verse, Chorus). Then, copy and paste each section accordingly.

*Note: You cannot manually add audio recordings from the old app to the new one.

Will you delete my songs in my old app if I don’t migrate to the new?2023-12-04T21:49:50+00:00

No. However, there are other ways in which you could risk losing your content.

Please see the scenarios below…

Using the original app with a SP Sync Cloud account:
Starting February 1st, 2024, we will no longer support the old app or the SP Sync Cloud account system. Your existing songs will not be deleted, but you can no longer save or sync new songs. However, we advise you to email yourself a copy of each song for backup before February 1st, 2024.

Using the original app without an SP Sync Cloud account:
Using the app in this way stores your songs and recordings locally on your device. If you delete the app, it will also delete the content, and you will not be able to recover it. We recommend that you email yourself a copy of each song now for backup.

Future Apple and Android Operating System (OS) Updates
At some point, as you continue to update your device, the old version of Songwriter’s Pad may not be compatible with the latest OS and stop working. For this reason we strongly recommend that you email yourself a copy of each song for backup before February 1st, 2024.
